Newsletter curation: When to unsubscribe

I receive 30-40 emails weekly from the numerous newsletters I subscribe to. To keep my inbox organized, I dedicate 30 minutes each day to reading them. However, keeping track of which newsletters remain relevant to me can be challenging.

To address this, I have created a label/folder named “Unsubscribe?” in Gmail and Outlook. Each time I read a newsletter that I do not find interesting, I move it to the “Unsubscribe?” label/folder.

You can move an email by using the shortcut key “v” in Gmail and Ctrl+Shift+V in Outlook, or you can drag and drop the email to your chosen label/folder.

I check my “Unsubscribe?” label/folder each month and unsubscribe if there are three or more newsletters from the same publication. This method ensures that I give the publication a fair chance while keeping my inbox and attention sane.
